Specialist Borehole Drilling Methods
There is no single drilling method suitable for every borehole project. Geology, groundwater, borehole design, diameter and project requirements all influence the most appropriate drilling approach.
Air drilling
Air drilling can provide an efficient method within suitable geological formations. Our drilling setup allows compressed-air techniques to be used where ground conditions and project requirements make this appropriate.
Mud drilling
Mud drilling can be used where geological conditions require additional borehole support and effective removal of cuttings. Our supporting plant includes dedicated desanding and drilling-fluid treatment equipment to improve control of circulating drilling fluid.
Simultaneous drilling and casing
Loose, unstable or unconsolidated formations can require casing to be advanced as drilling progresses. Our dual-head capability allows the drilling string and casing to be operated independently so that drilling and casing can progress together where required.
Deep borehole drilling
Our specialist equipment provides the capability to undertake deep boreholes for geothermal, water and investigation applications. Depth, diameter, methodology and borehole design are assessed on a project-specific basis.
